Marian Liu a believer in the underdog and at 5-feet tall, breaks stereotypes daily. She currently works as the Senior Editor of Multiplaforms at CNNMoney, managing the sites and social media for CNNMoney International, Media, Tech, Travel and Entertainment. She also covers Asian entertainment with stories about K-pop, J-pop, Canto and Mando pop and Bollywood. Previously, she launched and ran the entertainment site called SouthFlorida.com. The first year of launch, the site doubled every four months – climbing to 1 million in 4 months, 2 million in 8 months, 3 million in 15 and 4 million in 16 months. In the past, she’s covered all sorts of beats like pop music, pop culture, technology and business for The Seattle Times, the San Jose Mercury News, the Los Angeles Times, Oakland Tribune, Detroit Free Press and Source Magazine – interviewing everyone from Jet Li to Katy Perry. She believes in mentoring the next generation of journalists and has served on the national and local boards for the Asian American Journalists Association, Society of Feature Journalists, National Asian American Association of Professionals and the Online News Association. Liu is dedicated to communicating the needs of the communities she represents: young, immigrant and female.
